I've created in a report a trend line with a formule see other thread .
Based on this I've created a chart. To check my values in the chart I've also created a list.

The values in the chart dont match the values in the list. The values on the Y-ax are too high. I've tried changing the aggregation function.

Does anybode got some suggestions?
Cheers!

I'm a bit confused with the values.  What is 1.238,83335?  Unfortunately, I'm unable to wrap my head around the values before I can think of a possible solution.

Phew! I'm glad it isn't just me! I thought I must have missed that day in math class  ;D

Actually my guess is that the locale is a country where the decimal point and comma is reversed so the number is what I would understand as 1,235.83335. That guess didn't help me figure out what the issue might be, however.

Anybody got experience with the trend line? Maybe that experience can shine some light on this case.

CognosPaul

There are various locales which use a decimal point as a thousands separator, and the comma as the decimal separator.

It looks like all of the values in the chart are wrong. Which version of Cognos are you using? Is this based on an OLAP model or a relational model?

My guess is that you have something in the query doubling the values, and in the case of months 5,6,7 more than doubling. Month 8 looks like it's part of the linear path from 1-4.

Looking at the generated SQL should give you some hints as to where the doubling is happening. Feel free to post it here (both the list and the chart SQL).
