Hi there, we are using a popular automation product which uses the Cognos engine for reporting.

As part of the reporting solution a number of out of the box reports are offered however when we open any of them or run them we get the following error:

Content Manager did not return an object for the requested path 'content/folder[@name='Templates']/report[@name='Query Tables Library 8.2']'

I have searched this error and found the following link from IBM but this does not really offer any sort of solution:

Would be very grateful if any one can offer any insight to this problem.
Thanks

MFGF

It looks to me like the reports you are trying to run have part of their XML report spec pointing to a source report which has been moved or deleted. If you navigate to the root of the Public Folders area, do you see a folder called Templates? If so, when you navigate into this folder, do you see a report called Query Tables Library 8.2?

If you don't have these, try to locate where the Query Tables Library 8.2 report has gone. If you find it, create a folder called Templates and copy it into here. Hopefully your reports should start working again.

Ahh yes it is missing!

Yet when i look in our development environment running the same version and configuration i notice that it is there!

This now offers the question why is it missing from our production environment when the installations were the same?

Many thanks for your help!  :)

Aha! I can't help with the question about why it is missing, but I'm glad we got to the bottom of what's causing the problem. You just need to copy the missing report over from the Dev environment - either by deploying/importing, or you could even open the report on your Dev machine in Report Studio. (use Tools > Copy Report to Clipboard to copy the XML spec, then open Report Studio on your Production machine, Tools > Open Report from Clipboard, then save it with the correct name).

Cheers!
