All,

I have a strange problem with the Cognos Audit Database.

For some reason it has stopped collecting data in a particular table called COGIPF_USERLOGON.

Other tables such as COGIPF_RUNREPORT are still collecting data correctly and seem unaffected.

To my knowledge, we did not make any changes to the configs.

Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

I'm sure you've heard this one, but did you try restarting services? Have any changes taken place with security or fix packs been applied?

SynexusStuart

Not around the time it stopped working.

We are moving to C10 soon and i wanted to do a full audit of users and content store before moving and this has kind of knackered it up a bit.

I already tried to restart services. Any other cideas?

OK we worked out how to fix it if anyone is intersted...

Somehow the logging level on the server had re-set to "Basic". We re-set that to "Request" but it still didn't kick the COGIPF_USERLOGON Audit Table into action.

The missing piece of the puzzle was to rename (or delete) the file ipfinternalconfig.xml on the Audit server. Once this was renamed (or deleted), we restarted the Cognos Services and this file was recreated and the Audit logging resumed as normal.

Hope that helps someone in future.

Anytime you enable a trace using "ipfclientconfig.xml" in the /configuration directory it will stop auditing.
