Hi Folks,

Basically i have one server where cognos is configured and it is the prod server and also other applications are  installed in that. And the reports are called from one application an HTTPS call. the db is SQL Server 2008.
Now, the server span is over and they would want another server called DR server (Disaster Recovery) to be the production server. However cognos is installed and config is incorrect. So what is the first step that i need to take and how can i make it the prod server?

Please let me know how do i start with.

Thanks for the help.

I'm more experienced on the Planning side, but it seems to me you have several things to address:

1.  deploy the full content store from current production
2.  open up Cognos Configuration in the DR box and configure it to mirror what is in your "old PROD" box
3.  reconfigure your web and gateway so the users will still access via the same URL to the "new PROD" box
4.  import the full content store from current production to "new PROD"

I know this is very crude, but I expect it will give you a starting point.  If you need more detail, then make your question a bit more specific.

Thanks for the reply ... i have done all these steps.. now i have another question. I have 2 portlets in the cognos connection. How do i import that? is it stored somewhere?

Please let me know.Thank YOu.

These should be transferred over when you import the full content store.

Cheers!
