Hi All:

This doesnt happen every single time so we are trying to narrow down what is going on.
When a user opens a link in cognos connection, sometimes excel, sometimes a microsoft office link, they get prompted for a username and password.  This is a windows authentication and not active directory or access manager.  Our cognos security is fine, and is single sign on.

Part of me feels like it started to happen when we switched to windows 7, but i do not know that for sure.

Basically when a user clicks on a link in cognos connection they sometimes receive a box that pops up asking for username and password, the top of the box says "windows security".  The user hits cancel and the spreadsheet or word doc pops up.

Has anyone seen this?

Hi Biresg

DO you still see this issue?  I am having this issue and need to how to fix it.

Please let me know if you have solved it.

Thanks..

We have not identified the problem, nor do I have a fix for it.
We do not have anything automated that would hang up the process, so we just allow it as is right now.

Our biggest concern is 10k users can get this and call us confused.
We tell them to just hit cancel, however we are trying to eliminate the calls in the first place
