Help - How to add a Running Total Row to a cross tab in COGNOS 10 Report Studio

Hi,
Can somebody please help me with a step by step guide to how to add a Running Total Row to a cross tab in COGNOS 10 Report Studio?
I know it can be done in COGNOS 8 by changing the expression of the Total(Data Item) which is total(currentMeasure within detail [Product line])
to
running-total([Quantity] at [Order year], [Order month] for [Order
year])
I am attaching an IBM document which gives a step by step guide but that is for COGNOS 8. In Cognos 10 when I add an aggregate function it provides something called Edge Summary and doesn't let me change its definition unlike COGNOS 8.
I tried creating a new data item, changing the cells to Define Contents to Yes, but it is not showing anything.

Kindly help as I am stuck with this forever.

I beleive you are going on right path.
Can you try using the data item you created as default measure.

I think it should work.

Thanks for your reply!
But adding the data item after setting the Define Contents as Yes does not give the correct results? Can't we just change the Total Expression as we used to do in Cognos 8?

Hi Atul,

This should be acchieved directly without any customization.
You need to set the define cell content property to No.
Then add the newly created dataitem in crosstab, set the aggregate property of data item to calculated.
