I am trying to create a "season" to date time category for a customer where seasons are defined as January - June and July - December.  The customer would like to be able to compare the same months in each season, to date. For example, the first two months of the spring season (Jan-Feb) compared to the first two months of the fall season (July - August). So, I am basically looking to create the effect of a YTD Grouped, but with 6 month increments.  If you have suggestions, please be specific. I need to provide specific instructions to my end client who will actually be building this.  Thank you.

Hi, you will need to create a season level in your time dimension such as Year -> Season -> Month.  Once this is done you will be able to define relative time categories such as 'Season to date', etc.  However to do this you will need to define the time dimension using a data source where the season dates and descriptions are defined and then use this to build your levels.  Make sure you set the time level ranking properties on each level; date function for season should be 'None'.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, Jean Paul. I will try that.
