Single Data Tab not updating Variable

Hi.

I have an issue with a data tab control that sometimes only has one tab (which is correct) but this tab does not update the related variable and so change the deck/card that is displayed. I was wondering if there is a way to ensure that the data tab control updates the variable when it is clicked on, even if there is only one tab. I suspect that, in the background, the data tab control is relying on an "index changed" type event and because there is only one tab visible, clicking on it does not cause the index to change.

More detail:
I have a Data Button Bar control that displays a list of Divisions. Each Division has one or more Sections, and the Sections are displayed in the Data Tab control. Each Section has one or more sub-sections (also displayed with a Data Button Bar control). These three levels drive the data decks and cards that contain the charts and lists.

This all works fine when the report is first loaded. After viewing various cards I return to the first Division. This only has one Section, and the Section is displayed in the Data Tab on its own. However, the variable that the Section data tab sets has not updated to match the section being displayed, and clicking the tab does not change it. No data is displayed.

If I manually change the variable for the section to the correct one, then the data is displayed. So, I am quite sure it is connected to the Data Tab control not setting the variable when there is only one tab to display. The Section variable has three default values applied, the first one being the variable for this single tab situation.

Please help me learn how to get round this.

Thanks, Andrew.

Hmmmmm a bit late with my reply........But are you clearing your lowing level variables (ie set to empty) when you return to a higher level?

Hi JGirl.

Thanks for your reply. No, I have not tried clearing the lower level variables. I will try it and see if it resolves the problem.
