Hi,

Need urgent help.
can someone help me in understanding where do i find the no,2 procedure? which says ,

2.In IBM Cognos for Microsoft Office, click the Browse Content tab.

please let me know
I have created a report in Cognos 10. I need to export the report in powerpoint for the users. I got the procedure from the help, but i am nt able to understand the procedure,

Before you can import report content, you must create a new poerpoint or open an existing one.

Procedure
1.Create a new powerpoint or open a saved document.
2.In IBM Cognos for Microsoft Office, click the Browse Content tab.
3.Expand the list of reports from the top node and click the report that you want to import into the powerpoint.
4.Click Import Content.
If this report was already imported into this powerpoint, a unique name for this instance of the report is assigned.

5.If you want to change the default name, in the Name box, type a name using no more than 215 characters.
6.If the report element is a workspace composite report from IBM Cognos Business Insight, and you want to set a page break before each report object in the composite report, select the Insert a break before this element check box, and then in the element box, click the pagination option to control where Microsoft Word positions automatic page breaks.
7.Under Report pages, choose from the following.
•To ignore the report page breaks and feed the content continuously down the poerpoint pages, click Ignore paging.
•To place content on Word document pages using page breaks, column breaks, text wrapping breaks, or section breaks, click Insert breaks between report pages, and then, in the Location box, click the pagination option to control where Microsoft Word positions automatic page breaks.

Do you have Cognos for Microsoft Office installed? This should give you a Cognos addin from within Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You can then connect to your Cognos server from within PowerPoint, log in, then navigate to find your report so you can import it.

Thank You very much for the response. I do not have the cognos office installed. I was trying to figure out if there is any other way.

Thanks!

Not for PowerPoint. You will need to install Cognos for MS Office to do this.

Your only other option would be to use your PrtSc button to capture the screen when running a report, then paste the captured image into PowerPoint. It's messy, though, and the process will need to be repeated each time you want to update the presentation.
