Hi All,

We have recently installed Cognos 8.4.1 and Transformer model in Linux server.
And in the existing windows setup we have transformer 7.4 models where we are using IQD files  as data sources.
we moved all the objects from windows Env to Linux Env, but these IQDS are not supporting by transformer model in the new environment.
Is there any limitation for IQD files in Linux server ? if yes please let me know the alternative.

Note: Any alternative other than converting these IQDS into Query subjects in FM Model(since we have more than 200 IQDS)

Thanks in advance
Prit

Hi I'm totally guessing here so apologies if this isn't any help.  The file path structure in linux is completely different to windows so it may just be a case of updating the IQDs to be linux compatible.  Though that is probably a manual process :-(

IQDs work in linux and unix as they do in Windows. You just need to ensure you install the IQD bridge with 8.4.

You will also have to ensure that the DB client tools/drivers are installed.

Edit: Correction. Linux does not support IQDs. Thanks for pointing that out Prit.

I have just realized the below point

The Series 7 IQDBridge is an optional component and is not supported on new platforms such as Linux or HP-UX Itanium

Wow, totally missed that. Good find!!! We will be moving to Linux soon so this could be a huge impact to my clients. Looks like more research is in order.

Thanks for the post back! :)
