Alternative to repeater tables

Hi,
I am building a report using report studio cognos 8.4. The report produces a detailed list of information of all members in our database. The complete list will probably return about 25,000 pages. Since its quite a large report I am adviced against using repeaters. So would anyone be able to advice an alternative to using repeaters? The report should generate person's details, postal address, qualifications etc and has to display this for all members in the database.

Kindly advice. Thanking you in advance.

I have to ask...  What practical, realistic use could a 25,000 page report ever be? Who would need all 25,000 pages? Are they really reading it all? It seems like a very strange requirement!

I agree it sounds like something worth questioning further to identify other options. How are users intending to use this? If it is a directory of some sort, then printing it would certainly not be the most eco-friendly approach. If they intend to refer to an electronic version, then why not make it interactive so they could search for some criteria and retrieve member information that way? A 25,000 page report might take some time to open up on a user's PC. If they are using the data for further processing, then maybe just produce a CSV output as a data dump (or use ETL software).

Having said all of that, if you still need to produce a report with all that data, then you could try a list container. You can unlock the report and arrange elements in tables so you don't have to have every data item as a separate column.
