I am on 8.4 and am having a weird issue with Report Studio.
Users are not able to open Report studio as they are getting the following error

You do not have access to any Report Studio profiles. RS is shutting down. For more information contact the administrator

I have tried adding users as Authors, Report Administrators and they still get the error.

I do not get the error as i have System administrator permissions.

'User Interface Profiles' have Authors, Report Administrators in its permissions wiht Execute and Traverse rights.

Is there something basic i'm missing here

Thanks,
JD

Redmist - Did you ever get an answer to this? I'm having the same problem after a ReportNet upgrade.

Thanks,

Support came back with a solution last week.... my issue was that i had removed the Everyone group from the properties of dispatcher.

When i secured the environment, I had removed all the roles from the properties except the Server Administrators. I had also disabled the Everyone group.

Anyway i had to add Everyone group to the properties of the root dispatcher and give it execute and traverse permissions. I am not sure why this would be an issue but this fixed it and support did not a convincing answer as to why this is required. Also Enable the Everyone group.

Not sure if this would of any help for you but give it a shot

Thanks for the reply - Apparemtly, I have a different problem. My dispatcher has the Everyone group and it is enabled. My problem may stem from the fact that my User Interface Profiles (under the Security tab) are disabled for the Report Studio Express and Professional options. Support has said they have never seen this and they are working on a fix.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem redmist described, on our dev et production environments. (migration from 8.2 to 8.4 done in the last weeks)
And the Everyone group has already the execute and traverse permissions on the properties of the root dispatcher.

Is there a fix to solve this problem ?  ???

Sege, does redmist's solution work for you?

No. I already have these rights for the dispatcher.

The solution in my case :

In the page 'User Interface Profiles', i had to click on the top right icon with the small hand (Set properties) and add the correct group of users.

What i was doing and was not working, was to add the group of users in the properties of each lines of this page (Professional and Express lines)

Hi Fchern,

I have the same problem now which you faced.
Under User Interface Profiles >> Professional and Express Authoring Modes are not appearing,
Can you please advice on this.

Thanks.
