Dear Gurus

I am new to Cognos administration. I have installed Cognos 8.3 on my desktop. While doing a 'Trail and error' with the User security, unexpectedly I have locked myselft out of accessing the 'Local NT' users in cognos Directory.  Below is the error I am getting when I click on the Local NT Users.

CM-REQ-4049

An error occurred while accessing a security system.

Details

CAM-AAA-0053 The call to the NTLM function 'NetQueryDisplayInformation' returned with the error code: '5' ( '{2}'). Access is denied.

CAM-AAA-0053 The call to the NTLM function 'NetQueryDisplayInformation' returned.

I am supposed to be the administrator. Please let me know how can this be reverted back...

Thanks
Pravin

Dear Gurus

My self and other 2 users was able to login to Cognos with their NT ids till Yesterday.. One of them changed some settings in the user accesses and we started facing issues.

Now there are two issues:

1. I have deleted and again created LOcal NT authentication namespace as per your suggestion but I am getting below error.

My details:

Type : NTLM
Name Space ID : Local NT ID
NTLM Domain Name : AIGTTT

Error Message
CAM-AAA-0146 The namespace 'Local NT ID' is not available.
CAM-AAA-0064 The function 'CAM_AAA_Configure2' failed.
CAM-AAA-0108 The specified NTLM domain controller '\\AIGKTTDC' is invalid.

My biggest doubt is why is Cognos suffixing DC to my domain name. If this is corrected then I believe the problem can be resolved.

I thought that Content store is storing the wrong domain name so I have deleted CS and created a new one but still the problem is not resolved :(

2. I tried with Anonymous Cognos login but only one user is able to login at any given time. Other users are getting "The user is already logged into available instances" error. This is not preferred solution but we can use this in Worst case scenarios...

We are working against tight deadlines, Sorry for my elaborate posts. Just want to provide you with as much info as I can..

Thanks
Pravin

in c8\configuration\schemas\content\databaseservertypeyouusedforthecs\AddsysAdminMember.sql

Run it on your content store database, and it will add the everyone group back as member of the c8\system administrators.
Any user that can succesfully login, will have full control, and you can fix what was wrong.
