Hi All,

Can I export entire Cognos 10 Business Insight Dashboard to PDF, i am able to export individual reports to pdf. But I can't export entire dashboard to pdf.

Please help me out in this issue, is there any other alternative to export pdf apart from business insight.

Thanks in advance,
Surendhra

No - there is no feature in the UI to do this. It has been designed as an interactive unified workspace, so I imagine the thinking is that you will use it online. There is nothing stopping you from assembling similar content in a Report Studio report - this would then be a single report which you could render as PDF.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, my client is asking he wants to export entire dashboard to pdf not report studio reports. If you know any third party tools to do this please inform me, I am very struggling with this issue. I read some where by using cognos for microsoft office we can import dashboard to word and then export it to PDF, But in order to test this i am unable to find the trail version of this software in IBM. please help me out this.

Thanks
Surendhra

third party tools? this is a cognos forum, isnt it?  ;D
however, you might gonne try to create an interactive active report and exctract this mht file into a pdf file. however, i dont see the useage of having an interactive dashboard and then trying to get a stiff pdf.

If you already have the dashboard in Business Insight, just use the components for the reports, as our mighty muppet suggested!

Business Insight is a dashboard - if there were a third party tool it would have to parse the links in the Dashboard object to load each individual component and then parse all of the parameters to know how to filter these individual objects, based on parameters used in the Dashboard...

So the short answer, No

However if your Dashboard does not Scroll - meaning it fits all in one screen you could use a tool like SnagIt which is a Print Screen tool to capture an image of the Dashboard and send it to a PDF document.

This would accomplish what I think you are looking for.

I've also heard the above request about Exporting the whole dashboard multiple times.

In regards to just Exporting 1 Report Widget does anyone know how to disable the additional attributes printed for:

-Filter Conditions
-Sorting Conditions

We'd prefer to just see the report content.

thanks,
