I am trying to create a process which would create a dimension. I intend to do this using the ODBC option under the datasources tab. I am not able to see the data source that i want when i click browse. The ODBC option exists under Control Panel>Administrative Serices>ODBC>System DSN. Is there a need to set it up at TM1 end as well

Since the TI executes on the TM1 server, the ODBC DSN needs to be set up there.

Could you please let me know a couple of steps for it. I couldnt locate the exact place/option to be used. Thanks

I'm not sure what I can add, but here goes:
a    Logon to the server on which the TM1 server is running
b    Select Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Data Sources (ODBC)
c    Configure your data source. If the ODBC driver isn't installed, get it installed first.

I have done that. But, i am not able to see it in TM1 when i click browse against Datasources for ODBC option.

You must set up the ODBC data source as System DSN not User DSN

Hi, was there a follow-up to this? I'm having a similar problem where a System DSN ODBC connection has been created on the TM1 server but I can't see it in TI. I've installed the 64bit version of TM1 and have also installed the 32bit client and Architect, however I do not get the 32bit ODBC source in my list of sources for TI.

Any ideas??

EDIT: Not to worry, found out that 32bit ODBC connections won't be visible in a 64bit TM1 environment. I will need the requisite 64bit version of the ODBC driver and create the connection with that if I want it consumed within TM1.
