Hi,

hopefully someone can help me!

our cognos (10.1) environment:

server:
a) W2K8 R2 - Gateway, Content Manager, Dispatcher, Planning-SRV
b) W2K3 SP2 - Dispatcher, Planning-SRV
c) W2K3 SP2 - Dispatcher, Planning-SRV, Data Manager

problem:
Yesterday, i deinstalled our 8.4.1 products on server a,b and c. After reboot the systems, Planning in load-balanceing fail.

errors:
1. in PlanningErrorLog - ActiveX component can't create object
2. while open Analyst - Domain Error: GetCAMMembership[8] z''CAM.Get CurrentUserMembership a b c d
3. open Contributor Web Client - Failed HRESULT [0x80040154]: Class not registered

When i use server a) as an stand-alone cognos environment, then planning runs without errors.

Does somebody known this problem?

Thanks

mike.son

From a quick look at the information you provided, I suspect that something has been removed / unregistered due to the uninstall of the 8.4.1 software.  I've seen the very same thing happen in environments.  This is why uninstalling the previous version is so important before installing a new one.

With that said, you might be able to get past these errors by re-installing the planning server software on your three servers.  I've done this in the past with success.

Good luck!

good morning ericlfg,

thanks for your help. I only deinstalled the BI (8.4.1) environment. We deinstalled Planning (8.4.1) before we installed 10.1

Did you right-click on install program , Run as Administrator on the win2k8 box?
Planning Services running under a domain account with local admin rights?

hi ericlfg,

your solution resolve the problem. I re-installed the 10.1 environment and now the load-balanceing works fine.

Thanks a lot,
