Hi,

I am trying to report from TM1 in RS; I have a page consists of 2 crosstabs from 2 TM1 cubes. I am trying to use the same prompts in the queries but having some issues:

I found this IBM help :
https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21371133

but it didn't work.

so when I write caption([PL].[Time].[Time])->?Year? I am getting QE-DEF-0459 errors. ([PL].[Time].[Time]) is my dimension and Year is my parameter coming from other TM1 cube prompt.

Any ideas?

Hi,

The document you linked to refers to reporting off Cognos Powercubes. You will probably find that by default, your TM1 cubes do not have named levels enabled for your hierarchies, and may not have captions.

Can you describe what you are trying to achieve? Are the cubes defined using aliases? How are your prompts supposed to work?

Sorry - lots of questions! :)

Yes, everything works fine with 1 TM1 sourced reports; what I am trying to do is to have a prompt (year in this case - based on a dimension of one cube) and use that prompt to slice two crosstabs at once. It will not be good to have 2 of the same prompts for two crosstabs.

About the cubes , levels are missing as usual (TM1 hierchy cube is not populated) but there are lots of attributes defined. And they have been published to use one of the aliasas most of the time.

Ok - so I guess the dimensions of the two cubes are conformed, but the MUNs will be different?

Your best bet will probably be to create macro expressions to extract the relevant members from each cube based on your parameter. Our very own Paul wrote an excellent post on this a while back - you can find it here:

Yes, that's right: dimensions are conformed but the MUNs are different.

Thanks for the link, I think that might work; I will try to write a macro.
