How can i split Transformer cube into several more cubes?

I am working on a project where i have a huge cube, i am not sure the size but ya its in gigs...
End users use reports which is depends on that cuble like every day and all reports use all dimensions and measures... so i am thinking i can not split this cube into several more cubes as reports use that cube...Cube has like 2 millions of catagories...lik1 12 dimensions anf 15 measures...

My Question is that,  Is there any chance to split this cube into several more cubes without effecting reports?
Or any other approch that can make it possible to split this cube into many without damaging reports... or Can i use Framework manager for this purpose in order to create model which wil be used by reports in future and get rid of this cube?

Please guide me on this.. I am in rush.. ::) ::)

How's ur date/time Dimension?

Do you have up to "day" level?

We have a cube here that is in Gig also, what we did is that for previous years we removed the "day" level. it only shows the summarized data in Months.  that made the cube small and a lot faster in performance.

Quarter
Month
Day

Why not remove the "day" level in the Old years..?

You create a date dimension using the wizard and populate the categories.. in the data diagram you can EXCLUDE the days in the OLD YEARS and MONTHS..

also,  filter the data as much as possible. there is option like cube partitioning. please read this in the user guide. there are like time based cube partition.

What is the actual purpose of splitting the file?

To improve performance?

To decrease build time?

To decrease size? You can buildcubes larger than 2G by altering the MultiFileCubeThreshold setting


To put it another way is there a reason you can't jsut let the cube size grow?
