I struggled with the following question...

We are producing reports that automatically refresh everyday with updated information and we are historing our data (there will be a filter on each report that allows you to go back in time and see the situation as it was 1 month ago, the last year, etc).
Therefore I think that there will be no need to save reports with the versioning (keep this version --> save report).
Is there a possibility to set a trigger on live data (ex. if a revenue goes over 1 milion advise me)?
Watch rules work only on saved versions and Event Studio is too complicated for a normal manager that only read reports but he would be interested to set such triggers...

Thanks

Enrico

hi,

as far as i know you can trigger the event, and use the trigger on your own in congnos connection. But the trigger has to be declared before by an administrator.
the oder option is, as you mentioned, event studio, which was created for exactly that purpose (creating trigger and agents).

So i would suggest you
1) ask your admin to create these trigger (SDK or trigger.bat if you use windows os)
2) get the business authors to develop trigger events with event studio in coopereation with the request department
3) or: use Business Insight Advanced and highlight data with conditional styles.
Its intuitiv and easy to use, quite fast and powerfull and therefore, this might be an option for you as well.

cheerz :P
