Hello all,

I'd like to add even more activity to active reports  ;) ....so is it possible to embed my own javascript coding in an active report ?

thanx in advance,

p.s. i love the active components so much that i would like to have them also in the 'normal' reports (e.g. tabs-data-decks...)

I am with you on this - I love the new Active Reporting components

I have been partially successful embedding javascript, well more than partially really. I embed it the same way I embed JS into a regualr report studio report - with HTML objects.

So far the only thing I haven't gotten to work is anything making an external call.

For example I currently have JavaScript with Links and the links have a hover action which pulls up an image of a report. The HTML links still work the formatting etc still work but the Pop up window doesn't.

On a side note this functionality doesn't work in 10.1.1 at all anymore not even in regular reports so I need to find another way to deliver this...

The good news is my primary dashboard was originally going to stay as a Report due to this but now that it doesn't work anywhere there is no longer a reason for me not to convert this dashboard to an Active Report as well  :)

Active reports has a long way to go since it is only in its inception. I cant really make default selections in the objects, cant use javascript, cannot pass parameter values on objects from the report page, etc.
