Impromptu-Saving a 7.5 Impromptu reports as Excel

In 7.2 we had no problems with saving IMR reports as excel with format.  The results were as needed albeit no header etc.

After upgrading from 7.2 to 7.5, we have tried to save  the same .imr reports as Excel with format, choosing, from Reports, either version of excel.  The /imr report has subtotals and totals with group etc

In both cases the resulting excel displays with merged cells. and subtotals are not even in the same column as the data subtotaled.

Any ideas?
