Hi Gurus,

I'm planning to install 8.4 on Windows xp mode of Windows virtual machine's windows xp mode .Will it support that ?

As 8.4 is not compatible with windows 7, I'm going with this option.

Can anyone please send the steps if you guys have recorded during installation?

I've allocated 2 Gb RAM for xp mode .

Please suggest and help me in installation

Thanks in Advance

2Gb of memory for a CI BI server sounds dangerously small to me! You may just about get it running, but as soon as you start to try to do anything even slightly complex it will probably run out of memory and begin paging furiously. I would allocate more memory if you have it.

Meep!

I rarely disagree with a muppet :), but  I run both SQL server AND Cognos 8.4.1 locally on my laptop with memory allocation between 1.2-1.6 Gig
A large percentage of our customers have outdated server parks often allocating just about 2Gigs.
We rarely have performance issues with them ,but we handle very small sets with few concurrent users. So, 2Gig may work out depending on your situation.

Sofar, Cognos 10 seems to be quite another matter   :(
