User unable to access Contributor Web Grid - Editor Lagging?

Hello Guys

I am hoping you can help with a problem I have.

One of my users is unable to access just one of our applications. When he tries to open up an elist item from the contributor web grid it starts the process to open the web grid but then it doesn't open.

I have checked the 'Display Invalid Owners and Editors' checkbox on the GTP and (when running the GTP) I could see the he was marked as an 'Editor Lagging'. The only way I been able to remove him from being logged as 'editor lagging' was to click yes to the message re '<User> has been annotating <Elist> since HH:MM:SS... If you continue and annotate then <User> will be unable to save any changes. Do you wish to annotate <Elist>' (i.e. the message you sometimes get when opening the web grid).

Unfortunately though when he subsequently then tries to access the same elist / application he is unable to and is again marked as being 'editor lagging'.

The problem appears to be user and application / model specific.

We are on version 8.4 but are using the old access manager 7.3, I am convinced it must be something specific to his access rights but I can't see anything that is wrong, has anyone experienced this problem and can please help?

I have looked on the net and I feel I am the first person ever to experience this!

Thanks in advance for any assistance, Pedro

Hey Pedro,

To confirm the behavior that the end user is experiencing, the grid begins to load and then simply disappears?  If this is the case, then it sounds like the issue described in the below TN (which I've used to address problems with this behavior):

https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21433483

This was logged as a defect and corrected in 8.4 FP2 I believe.

Cheers

Pedro

Hi

Yes this is the behaviour we are experiencing.

Your advice has solved the problem, thanks so much for helping.

Much Appreciated!
