One month before My onsite Co-coordinator given ABC.CAT Catalog with some tables & columns & calculations to me.
Now he made modifications in server database. He added many tables & columns.
My problem is how to add those added tables, columns in my existing ABC.CAT catalog. Is there any simple process to add those tables.
More over my catalog is not Distributed it is Static (i.e., secured or shared).
Please any one help to me........

Simply select the same table in both the 'Database tables' section and the 'Catalog tables' section to add new columns to existing catalog tables.

If tables do not show up in the former you can select Tools ->Options -> General tab and then select the check box stating 'Retrieve database tables when editing..'

In case it is a brand new table simply select the table in the left hand column and click on the add button.

Life gets harder if you have created alias tables in the catalog based ON a table in the catalog.

If that is the case you will need to do the following;

1) change the alias name temporarily to the name of the database table ( add a suffix or something to any catalog table that already has the database table name)

2) select the above table and then the similarly named table in the database tables sectionand then add the new column

3) Rename the catalog table back to its original name.

Finally, if you are working on a non distributed catalog you will not be able to see the tables sub menu under the catalog menu ( and hence unable to carry out the above operation) if you have any users logged into the catalog.

If you have a lot of users you could a use a tool such as netwatch.exe which tells you, atleats in a Windows environment who is using what OS file.
