Extracting 1 xls file from Report to upload into DB

Hi Guys,
             I have a problem. I have a client who uses outlook to receive emails.

They want to upload a basic xls file into there system. Unfortunately there system cannot recognise the cognos attachments when then arrise.

The workaround is to save the xls to the desktop and then send manually which then works. Obviously when this is sent at 2am in the morning no human person is available.

Wondering if anyone has a solution or a aftermarket product which will allow automation of the system.

At present reportnet only allows you do the following:-

1)choose to e-mail it to a user, in excel 2000 single sheet format, arrives in e-mail as an html attachment

2)choose to e-mail it to a user in excel 2000 format, arrives in e-mail as an html attachment and an xls

3)choose to e-mail it to a user in excel 2002 format, arrives in e-mail as an mht attachment

I just want 1 single xls file...is there a script or technology i can use which will cut out the manual intervention???

Any help would be appreciated..
