Hi Guys,
I am relatively new to Cognos.

For Migration of the reports,
We have an option to export the archive and importing the same in the new environment.

For Framework Model,
Do we have the similiar option? .. If not, Please let me know the way to migrate the same.

Hope my question sounds correct..,

Thanks,
Kavin

For any published packages on the Cognos server, you deploy them in the same way as the reports - simply select them for inclusion in your archive.

If you want to move a Framework Manager model from one machine to another, you will need to copy across the project folder and all the project files for your model.

Regards,

MF.

While Exporting the Whole project folder and importing the folder in higher enviorment just keep in mind to create a DSN with the same name for that enviorment poiting to the DB so that the imported package would get the same envioment setup and fetch the data from the db

i like to take a backup of the FM model files at the time of publish and just place them in a folder with the date as part of the folder name. That way I can always get back to the model as it looked at publish time if necessary. In an environment where the customer doesn't have source control for the model this can be useful.

As MFGF said, the package is what gets migrated. Anything you do with the FM source files themselves is up to you in the out-of-the-box/non-source-control world.
