Hi,

Could anyone please suggest how should I import all report contents i.e. list/crosstab/chart along with report header & footer in MS word using Cognos Go! office? When I import report contents it only imports data objects like list, crosstab or chart; not report header & footer.

I have Cognos 8.4.1 32 bit Go! office & MS 2003 professional edition is installed.

Note: Could not find Cognos Go! Office section hence posted the query in this section.    :-\

Hi SGD,

I have worked on GoOffice(PPT).I was able import the  contents from List/Crosstab/Chart objects of the reports. It can't identify any objects like headers ,footers, singleton. So i tried adding contents like Report Header, Footers..etc which are not part of the report objects to List object and hidden the List column header and imported to the GoOffice PPT.

Within Report Studio, the properties of each object must have a name associated.  Name each Report Studio object and the items will be available to use in GO! Office.

In addition, I have company logo & prompt values which also need to display in report header, how should I handle this?

One of the major benefits of GO! Office is the ability to include objects based on your trusted information from the Cognos server, and be able to refresh the data in your Office document at the click of a button.  For non-data related areas such as page headers and footers, you would be just as well defining these in your Office document since they will not change.  If you want to include things like prompt values in your page header, then if you cannot pick up layout calculations from the report (I haven't tried this so I'm not sure if you can), you might instead consider displaying these in singletons in the original report, which you should then be able to bring in.

Good luck!!

Hi MF...it did not worked with 'Singleton' option but with 'List' option as suggested by McMohan.

However still finding a work-around to display company logo in report header...any idea???

Hi SGD,

As company logo is static object. Instead of getting it from the report server ,Its better to embed it in the Word/PPT/Excel.
