Is it possible to create drill up/drill down functionality when I create a new report based on a dimensional model for instance?
I know it's possible to open a Cube analysis in Report Studio but I want te built a report from scratch that has drill down capabilities for years -->  months for instance.

At the moment I can't find it

When you are building a new report based on either a cube package or a dimensionally modelled relational package (which has dimensions and a measures folder), you can turn on drill down/up capabilities from the Tools dropdown on the menubar (Tools/Drill Behavior).

If you are reporting off a relational non-dimensionally modelled package (using Query Subjects and Query Items) then this option is not available.

Rolldice

Hi All,

Following on from this thread - I have created a custom set from a DMR hierarchy in RS.

I would like to be able to 'drill up' and 'drill down' on the members that I have in the set.

What I have done thus far is:

  • Create a data item that has the member set(a,b,c etc..) i
Dragged this into the custom set tab of the report query.
place the data item into the row rows.

I can see all the set members from my customer set in the rows but I can't drill up and down on them.

I have enable 'drill up' and drill 'down' functionality from the tool bar menu - It's working for the dimensions in the crosstab.  But not my CS.

When I build my the same crosstab in AS and open it RS I see a lot of code that looks bespoke to Cognos i.e - functions that arn't in the functions tab.

- How can I replicate this so I can drill up and down on my custom set???

I WOULD LOVE TO GET THIS WORKING..
