Hi,
I have an export archive from the content manager version cognos 8.1 which includes user account information. I am importing the archive into cognos version 8.4. After the import completes with a status of succeeded. However, although the directory groups and roles exist the underlying user account information is missing.

The following is a sample from the import Error log :
CM-REQ-4111 Object "/NoorS" (of class "account") was not imported. CM-SYS-5147 Cognos Access Manager returned an invalid value for the property "ancestors" of the object "CAMID("lonms05006.fm.rbsgrp.net:u:becad0fb27c6f3428ef4632e61f9a91e")".     NoorS

Any idea on what i need to do to persist the account user information?

Hi there

Are you pointing 8.4 at the same authentication source as 8.1?
If you are pointing 8.4 at a different authentication source you will get these sorts of issues.

questions needing answers
Is authentication source the same between 8.4 and 8.1.  If not point 8.4 at the original Authentication source and test a re-import of content.
What is the authentication source for 8.1 and 8.4?  E.g. Series 7, Active Directory

Once the above is known we can start digging into the problem
Cheers

The authentication source is active directory. The 8.1 and 8.4.1 version have the same security -> Authentication settings defined in cognos configuration, i.e. they point to the same machine and port hosting active directory.

I am able to manually add users to groups from the active directory.
8.4.1 is running on windows 2008 R2 Standard. Version 8.1 is running on windows 2003.
