Hi Anand

Does this happen for all OLAP packages or only specific OLAP packages?
OLAP packages can be
Powercubes
Microsoft Analysis Cubes
Essbase cubes
Dimensionalised Models.

Does the issue occur for all users?  Or just a specific user?
What version of the product are you using? 8.1, 8.4 ETC?
If you create a data source connection to the Sample powercube "great outdoors.mdc" and create a package then open this sample package in Analysis Studio, do you get the same error?
Does the OLAP data source open successfully in Report Studio?

These are some of the questions you need to answer so that we in the forum can focus on a specific path of diagnosis.

Cheers

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using cognos 8.1.

we are having this problem for only specific report for all users (power cube and remaining reports are ok)

Thanks!
Anand.

Hi Anand

Ok so 8.1 means you are using Transformer 7.3 likely, 7.4 maybe and would possibly maybe have (Hopefully) powerplay client.  Does this powercube open in powerplay client?

If it doesn't then you have a problem with the model.
If it does, compare the hierarchical tree seen in powerplay client, (dimensions on the left) with what you see in Transformer Catagory view.  Do they look correct?  If not then, check the model and the data sources and rebuild.

BTW, you mentioned a report so is this a saved Analysis Studio Report or is it an issue opening Analysis Studio against the powercube?
Should have asked that one first.

Anyway let me know
Cheers
