Default Selection in conditional blocks

Hi Folks,

I have a value prompt(radio button) in the report page and three lists defined in the conditional block for

1.Active
2.Inactive
3. Both

so when the user clicks on the Active the the first list gets displayd and Inactive , the second and etc.
I want Active to be default always when i run the report. I gave Active in default selection in the properties. But when i run the report , i the first list for Active is not getting displayed. I get a blank report. For inactive and both i get the data. Any idea what is the prob ?

Kindly suggest as this is urgent.

I don't know you have used a render variable or not.
setting default value does not bring you the list1 in the main page. YOu have to create a render variable and apply to conditional block.

Setting default value as 'Active' and Auto-Submit to 'Yes' should disply Active list.

Do you use Re-Prompt button in your report page to refresh the report?

I have not used reprompt button in the report page. I have cancel and finish buttons only. Also I created a render varaible and set the auto submit to "Yes". Still the same prob persists. Not sure as to why :-(

I have a question. Can we use default selection, when there are static choices given.

Tried all the possible ways. With render variables , with conditional blocks etc,

I have three static choices defined. Active, Inactive , Both.

Once i give default selection as Active, the report gives a blank page for the first Active list.
Rest others it works fine.

It should work if you give default selection for static choices.
I think you are giving wrong name or you might be using static choices USE VALUE 1,2 and 3 and DISPLAY VALUE Active, Inactive and Both.
In the Default selection, you might have given Active. This wont work. You should give 1.

Change prompt button type to 'reprompt'  instead of 'Finish', unlock the Prompt button and add a text item to change the Text displayed from 'Reprompt' to 'Finish' run the report!

Default Selection will solve your requirement. use the correct use value in the default selection list
