Could anyone tell me how to go about accessing Cognos MyFolder location directly via URL?  We have a centralized portal from where users access reports, templates etc through link and launch (URL). We would like to send users directly to their MY_FOLDER in Cognos using single sign-on authenticated generic url link.

Any suggestions?

Just wonder if any specific reason you would like to send users directly to their MY FOLDER?

Because if you have security in place then the users are entitled to see the content what they have permission for in Public Folder and also if they have write access can create their own reports and save it in My Folder.

Correct me if I am wrong?

Thanks

They do have access to see canned reports and templates in the public folder. The portal I mentioned, allows users to access individual reports (canned/templates etc) through link and launch. Now in addition to the canned reports, we want a link on the portal page that when clicked, takes them to their MY FOLDER in cognos directly.

Hope this clears. Any ideas?

Hi there,

I can't say I understand this request completely as the tab My Folder is available unless you are restricting this from within CC.
Anyway.
You can get the URL to my folders by getting the search properties

http://<server>:80/<web_alias>/cgi-bin/cognosisapi.dll?b_action=xts.run&m=portal/cc.xts&m_path=CAMID(%22<namespace>%3au%3aauthid%3d<authid>%22)%2ffolder%5b%40name%3d%27My%20Folders%27%5d

The above would need to be mapped per user.
My Folders is directly linked to a namespace therefore authentication is required.

Like I said, I'm not sure I totally understand the requirements but...
Cheers
