E-mailing issue!

Hi there,
When I am trying to send the excels as an e-mail attachment, I am seeing the below msg and no result. However, few months back everything was working fine.

CNC-SDS-0408 There are email messages waiting to be sent.

Any guess?

Some suggestions:
1. stop and restart delivery service.
2. if 8.4.1, install fp3.
3. clear queue.
4. is test to mail server fron cognos config successful? If not, define it. (Could be a password change or something of the sort).
5. Try sending mail to one receipient. Might be that one of the addresses is wrong.
6. If all else fails, restart cognos.

Hi there

On Top of the steps provided by NimrodA I'd also turn on SDS tracing to capture the SMTP details in the cogserver log which will show any underlying SMTP issues

Its likely to be a problem with the Mail server
I gather you have set up the SMTP server and tested on each of your installed 8.4 componets via the Cognos Configuration, Notification settings

Confirm that you can send mail from the BI Servers using a command line telnet session

Sometimes you do all such blunders when u r overloaded with work? Off course a silly excuse  :D

Actually, I had changed my e-mail account password and forgot to update the same in Cognos Configuration.

Now all is well :)
