How can we display full heirarchy after drill-down

When we drill down to the next level in the dimension map heirarchy Query Studio no longer displays the parent level. 
Is there a way we can keep the parent level visible or is there a way we can display a tree showing the current heirarchy?

Not in Query Studio, no, sorry.  It supports only a structural view of the dimensions, not a member-based view, so you are stuck with simply drilling down from one level to the next.  I can't imagine this will change either.
