[Resolved]-Not able to access using http://servername/cognos8/

Hi,

I have installed Cognos 8.4.1 on Win 2003 server which works fine with http://localhost/cognos8 however whenever not able to access cognos using http://servername/cognos8 or Server IP address.

It displays cognos welcome screen for infinite time when I use servername or server IP address.

I have replaced 'localhost' entries with server IP address in Cognos Configuration.

I referred this solution http://www.cognoise.com/community/index.php/topic,10258.msg33690.html#msg33690 as well to resolve the issue since Cognos server computer name was 'cog_server' which I later changed to 'cogserver'.

Any one has encountered such problem earlier?

Please let me know the resolution of the same. Thanks in advance.

Try to add host name as local intranet site under "Internet Options>Security>Intranet Sites. That may help.

Problem is resolved when I added http://servername/cognos8/ site in 'Trusted Sites' of Internet explorer.
