Long time between drill though's in Cognos 8: Report Net

Hi,

I have a set of reports that drill-through to each other to allow the user to navigate nicely through our data.Ã,  unfortunately after upgrading to Cognos 8 (which required me to rewrite all my reports!) there seems to now be a really long delay between the loading from drill-through reports.

When you click on the drill-through hyperlink you get taken to a page which is not the normal report loading page, which is bank except for the hour glass and:

"Working.

Please wait."

then after a good while this changes to the normal report loading page saying:

"Your report is running.

Instead of waiting, you can set it to run in the background with one of the following delivery options:
Instead of waiting, you can select a delivery method to run the report in the background."

All in all it takes a lot longer to drill-through than it did with Cognos 8, and I think my users are going to be very unimpressed!!Ã,  It seems to be whatever is happening with this odd first page you get...

Please, let me know if you have any idea how I can fix this...

Cheers,

Ian G

What is the server load when this is occurring? How much processor usage is going on?

What server settings for CRN (processes, interactive, batch, etc) do you have, if you have manually changed them?

Have you opened up the reports and validated them and saved in C8 (so nothing from CRN 1.x is leftover)?

Cheers,

Mike

I am the only one using the server at the time.  CPU load seems to peak at 50% a few times, then settles back down to practically nothing.

I haven't changed the default values.

All reports were completely rewritten for Cognos 8 (the move broken the old reports utterly).
