Table-only layout in version 10

I notice in the What's New doc for EP10 that there are new views created for the Table-Only publish, effectively creating a view with the "user-friendly" (or D-List) names for data items (as opposed to the internal ids). I'm guessing this will make it easier to link to, say, Analyst without creating views on top of the et_ tables yourself. Has anyone used this in version 10 yet, and was it successful?
Thanks.

Hi themarkh,

It's my understanding that eventually the view publish option from within the CAC will be removed and the feature moved into the Table only publish solely.  As it is now, there's the view publish which creates a separate container.  There is also, as you've described, the view tables created in the table only layout job.

Therefore, if you're comfortable / familiar working with the view publish then the new tables present in the table only layout are precisely what you would be used to using.

As for linking to Analyst, are you referring to d-links using an ODBC connection to the publish container?  I would expect that you can build the same links using the new tables in the table only layout job.

I welcome someone correcting me, never too late to learn something new :)
