Namespace is dropping when saving Model in Framework Manager

Hi

We are migrating to Teradata from DB2 and Cognos 8.3 to Cognos 8.4.

We have Model already developed and tested in Cognos 8.3. We now have to make changes for datasource and some tables in this model in Cognos 8.4.

we made changes to the model and have saved it. But when we have opened the model it could not load few of the namespaces whereas there was cpf file available.

Not sure why this is happening. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Brajesh.

What is the error message you're getting?
Do the tables behind the query subjects in the dropped namespaces exist on Teradata?

brajesh.bhadoriya

Yes tables are existing. Not getting any error message but after saving when I am opening the Model again, at that time I am not able to see few of the namespaces.

Arsenal

that's odd. I wonder if some of the xml files have been corrupted.

suppose you create a new sample model directly against Teradata with just maybe a couple of namespaces and 2 or 3 query subjects - pick the same tables as the one's that go "missing" in your prior model.

save and close this new model and open it again. Are the namespaces there or do they go missing in the new model too?

MFGF

Are you saying this is a segmented model (ie you have namespaces which reference other FM models)?

If so, are you able to open each of the "sub"-models independently?

MF.
Meep!

brajesh.bhadoriya

Yes, this is a segmented model. I have tried to open the models individually and was able to open that. One more thing I could see that, the one namespace which I am able to see if common one and is associated with all other namespaces as well.

MFGF

What results do you see if you save a copy of your original model, delete the existing segments, then re-add them in again?
Meep!

Thanks MFGF, I tried to add the segments and got the error:
QE-DEF-0312 An error occurred while calling the content store for identity information.
CCL-RCI-0004 Content Manager returned an authentication fault.
The error messages from WASP engine:
CM-REQ-4159 Content Manager returned an error in the response header.

So seems this could be the issue. What can be done for this?

Thanks again.

brajesh.bhadoriya

Not sure why this issue was coming, But I took complete folder of model and have opened each segment separetly and saved it back. Once every segment was saved separetly, I have opened the main Segment and its now able to link all the segments.

Thank you all for your help.

Regards
Brajesh.
