cannot connect to default namespace after import of LAE file

we are using cognos 8.3 and access manager version 7.4.3068.  oracle backend.  i had grabbed a copy of an LAE file from our Production server and tried importing it to TEST (after creating a backup LAE.)  Imported clearing Target Namespace as I always do.  I never got the popup displaying the results of the import so I figured something was up with the file. When I tried to log back in to restore the previous LAE from my TEST backup, I can not connect to the namespace there.  Connecting to default.csa file.  So I cannot get in at all to try to restore my backup.  Cannot login to CognosConnection to renew credentials.  Cognos Configuration tests successfully for that namespace.  Reset password in ADAM for Administrator and still no luck.  Also tried adding new connection but had same login error message.  if login to server as local admin, i get 'username or password is invalid.'  if i login to server as domain admin, i get
"Common Logon Error (hex 80070005): Access is denied."

Nothing i can find in any log files related to this failed import.  i need to get this running again quickly.  Any thoughts?

do we need to re-install Access Manager?  I can't find any other tricks to get the login working so i can attempt my re-import.

thanks!

we ended up creating a new ADAM instance and adding this connection in Acess Manager.  Then we took a new LAE file from PROD and restored this to TEST.  Success!!  Then had to adjust the port number in Cognos Configuration to point to this new instance.  And Test is back up and running now.

Talked to IBM tech support and it seems the LAE file corrupted the ADAM schema.  However, it should have generated warnings or error if the LAE file was corrupt...which it did not.  it never created the LAEtoLDAP.log file in the Program Files\cognos\cer5\bin directory.  Hope this helps someone else in the future.
