Hi,
once i click on the imr file the scheduler is popping up,and the reports are not able to access. But if I have the impromptu open and if open the same imr file then i am able to access.

Please suggest...

Ilyas.

Sorry - I'm not quite following you here.  Are you having problems accessing the scheduler?  Or an Impromptu report (IMR)?

An IMR file I assume?

Ah - right.  It sounds to me like the file type associations on your PC have linked IMR files to the Cognos Scheduler rather than to Cognos Impromptu.

Are you using Windows XP?  Windows 7?

Try the following:

In Windows explorer, find your IMR file, and right-click on it.  From the right-click menu, select 'Open With', then select 'Choose Program' (or 'Choose Default Program' if you are running Windows 7).  From the list of programs, select Impromptu, then check the 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' checkbox.

This should re-associate the IMR filetype with Impromptu rather than the scheduler.

Regards,

MF.

yes i have already that one. but still the scheduler is popping up.

Hmmm - that's worrying.  Could be a corrupt registry entry.  Do you have the option of uninstalling Impromptu and the Scheduler, then re-installing them?
