Migrate from ReportNet mr2 to Cognos 8 ALL Crosstabs stopped working

Every report I migrated to Cognos 8 that uses crosstabs now will not run, and give the error:

QFS-ERR-0130 The query is not supported.

(All list reports migrated fine)
I even tried building a new, very simple crosstab, and get the same error??Ã,  Anyone else seen this?Ã,

I've had no luck searching, and I'm starting to think it may be in our data structure (It kinda blows - tables are built with all data needed for certain queries in sql SPs and brought into Framework Manager, so our query subjects are almost all orphans...Ã,  This was not a problem in Reportnet, but when migrating the packages, FM was not too happy with some of it.)

Any thoughts would be a huge help.Ã,  Thanks!

Hi,

I had the same crosstab error (even on new simple test crosstab reports) after migrating my Impromptu 7.3 catalog to Cognos 8. Fortunately, I manage to solve the problem after 2 days of troubleshooting and lots of praying!

I noticed something different in the FM -> Data Sources -> Properties -> Type -> Interface label between my migrated package and my test packages. The working package had 'OL' for the label whereas my migrated and unusable test pacakage had 'MS'

I had amended this label to 'OL' on my migrated package and tested my test crosstab reports with favorable results.

BTW, I am using MS SQL as my data source.  I do not know whether it will work with different database flavours. Good luck!

Warmest regards,

Rahman

I would also like to add that I didn't migrate any existing Impromptu reports. I am planning to recreate them from scratch.

This is still unsolved on my end...  But I do have another factor to add to the mix.  I am able to build a crosstab from a table in my datasource.  All of my crosstabs that no longer work were all pulling from stored procedure results.

So, recreating a simple crosstab from a query subject from a standard table, works fine.  Recreating a simple crosstab using a query subject that gets it's data from a stored procedure bombs...

I can even pull a straight list in query studio from this stored procedure query subject, but as soon as I pivot it, it bombs...

This always worked fine in ReportNet...  So it can't be one of those 'You just can't do that' things...

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!  These reports are basically just un-usable right now and we are forced to query the datasource directly and dump to an Excel pivot table...  And we spent WAY TOO MUCH MONEY on Cognos to have to do this everyday!!  :)

Thanks
