I have a repeater table and one of the calculations is a difference between a value in my table and a static query independent of the repeater table. Is it possible for me to run an independent query to return a value that I can use in the expression definition in the repeater table?

Does the independent query contain a single result row or are there multiple rows? If the former, you can set the Cross Product Allowed property of the query to Yes, and then refer to it in expressions within your Repeater Table. If the latter, you would need to join both queries in Query Explorer and base your Repeater Table on the resultant query.
