Hi Guru's,

Can someone explain how to achieve printing a dashboard page in HTML/PDF format?
I don't see any default options that we can print/export a dashboard page as in Report studio...

Some inputs please.

This Dashboard Page has multiple Portlets.
Thanks & Appreciate your time.

Anyone had a situation to print dashboards?

Hi there

Have you turned on the standard toolbox in the portlet?
You may be able to edit the portlet

Set the properties - Cognos Viewer

Channel:
Specify a channel name for this portlet if you want to enable it to be a receiver of actions from other portlets.  To set communication between reports, use Report Properties.

View Options

Show Toolbar:
Normal mode  <- This one should be checked if you want to be able to export
Maximize mode

Hope this helps
Cheers

Hi Peter,

Thanks a lot and its solves a part of my issue.
Enabling the Normal Mode provides ability to print a portlet.

I wanted to know if there is a way to print out complete dashboard page with multiple portlet's.

I saw it IBM Doc's that even complete Business Insight report with multiple reports cannot be printing at a time and should be printed individually.

Hi there,

Thanks for the feedback.  You are correct and there is no means to do a complete Dashboard at this point.  We use MWsnap http://www.snapfiles.com/get/mwsnap.html which captures the screen, then we copy into a word document, which can produce an external PDF.  It's manual but the only other way, which is my method is to use Firefox 8 9 or 10 which has the PDF plugin to print out to pdf.

This doesn't put it back into Cognos but if you want that as well, then I saw a question and resolution on this forum where by you open Go Office Powerpoint and paste the PDF into that then bring this back.

Hope this helps
Cheers
Peter
