Hi,

Is it possible to prevent users from being able to schedule reports in Cognos Connection. We are using Cognos 8.4.1.

Seems like this feature should be available somewhere but I cant find any info on doing this :(

TIA

launch Cognos Administration -> Security tab -> Capabilities section -> Scheduling. You can change the permissions to exclude a particular group, so that users from that group cannot schedule reports etc.,

Cheers, does that definitley stop access to scheduling? from reading the documentation it is a little unclear but it seems to only stop the ability to change the priority of schedules.

Done some testing and this capability only stops users scheduling in public folders. They can still schedule from their 'My Folders' :(

Anyone know of a way to stop certain users scheduling completely? We have a small number of users who are inconsiderate and schedule excessively and at busy times despite being asked not to. We'd like to either stop these users scheduling or prevent them from scheduling at certain times busy times.

John

try to explicitly deny the execute and Traverse functions for the group of users...

Thanks tupac_rd!

That works great.

Much Appreciated.
