8.4 Feature that's quite annoying!

Hi,

We have just upgraded to 8.4 and our users are complaining about one for the new features!

They don't like the way the contributor web grid remembers the view everytime an elist item is closed, it is quite annoying to have to reset the views each time an elist has been open and modified.

Other than switching back to the classic client does anybody know how to set this feature so EP does not save the view each time?

Thanks in advance

Pedro

There's an option 'Persist Contributor Web Client Settings' under

> Development > Application Maintenance > Admin Options

Try setting it to off - I haven't tried it, so no guarantees

Pedro

Thanks Milt. I did see this and thought of trying it but wondered what sort of performance impact this might have, I guess I can only try it out!

I'll let you know the results

Thanks for your time
Cheers

Regarding Perfomance Impact:  Yep it does matter (v little bit)

The Persist Contributor Web Client Settings determines if the layout of the web grid will be stored and if so where. The options are Server, Client or Off.

The difference that in one case the special xml will be saved on a server and loaded from the server when user open the contributor next time. In other case the same xml will be saved on a local machine and loaded from there, this setting will determine the amount of traffic generated over the network, whenever a node requests for model.

Hope this helps.
